Mom Drove Her Dead Son Around For a Decade (Virginia)

Jun 23, 2015

Virginia police think a disturbed mom drove her dead son around for a decade while the child was still being reported as missing

Tonya Slaton, 44, is in police custody now, after a routine traffic stop for expired plates led to a patrolman’s grisly discovery of a decomposed and duct-taped corpse stuffed in the trunk of her car.

Those rotting human remains turned out to belong to Slaton’s12-year-old son, Quincy Jamar Davis, who went missing sometime in 2004.

The circumstances of the boy’s death -- and when it actually occurred -- are currently under investigation, but the former mother-in-law of Tonya Slaton has described a woman prone to bizarre behaviors and domestic violence.

The suspect was to appear in court this week, however that pre-trial hearing was postponed pending additional evidence and possible new charges.

Authorities have also asked the public for help in fully solving the weird crime she perpetrated, and state that about a dozen valid tips have come in so far, all of which will be followed up on ASAP.

In the meantime, the accused mom who drove her dead son around for a decade will continue to be jailed.
