More Bad News for Bill Cosby (no place to run, nowhere to hide)

Jul 23, 2015

Somebody better put embattled Bill Cosby on suicide watch soon, because his freefall from fame to infamy this year seems to have no bounds.

After losing all his supporters when a long-sealed confession concerning date rape drugs was released earlier this month, Cosby’s gotten more bad news about other similar pending litigation:

Looks like he’ll be forced to testify against himself a second time too, according to the terms of a recent decision by the California Supreme Court.

The latest civil suit, brought by alleged sex assault victim Judy Huth, claims Cosby drugged and raped her when she was only 15-years-old.

Now in her 50s, Huth has been trying to depose defendant Bill Cosby for a sworn statement that would ideally serve to expedite the legal contest between them, and most likely involve the same line of questioning as the damning one did in 2005.

But lawyers for the accused serial rapist have been trying to block that from happening, in vain hopes of getting Huth’s suit summarily dismissed and, thereby, stanching the highly-public bloodletting that now has their disgraced client’s formerly illustrious career taking a permanent nosedive.

Yesterday, however, those legal maneuvers flat out failed, as yet another unsympathetic judge has declined to show Bill Cosby any mercy.

In short, that means he’ll have to submit to a sworn deposition within the next 30 days…

So far about 40 women like plaintiff Huth have come forward in recent years with very unfunny allegations that comedian Bill Cosby secretly slipped mickeys into their beverages, then sexually violated them while they were unconscious.

The frequency of those alleged sex offenses and the similarity in the victims’ tales has steadily eroded public and private confidence in Cosby, who once proudly held himself out as not only a trustworthy moralist, but a role model.

Today, as a result of his suspected crimes and hypocrisy, the entertainer appears to have but one supporter left in his ever narrowing world -- devoted wife Camille. Although, in a great many ways, the betrayed woman is perhaps Bill Cosby's biggest victim, by far.
