Caged Woman Who Escaped RSO Found Slain

May 22, 2015

Missouri police say a caged woman who escaped from her armed capture almost a month ago was tracked down by the registered sex offender this week and slain, alongside her teenage son.

Both victims are believed to have been shot to death in their home sometime yesterday by 47-year-old RSO, James B. Horn.

Horn has been at large ever since April 30th when the woman escaped from the house where he’d imprisoned her in a small wooden cage for months and then reported him to authorities.

At that time, the suspect faced kidnapping, rape and weapons charges related to the extended and unlawful detention, but fled the crime scene before he could be taken into custody.

Horn has previous convictions for similar sexual assaults and abductions dating back to 1993, which is why he was listed on the national sex offender registry prior to the latest violations.

However, now that he’s committed a double homicide, Missouri officials seeking to apprehend the serial offender consider James B. Horn armed and dangerous and are warning the public to alert law enforcement and keep a safe distance if he’s sighted.

"He is a dangerous person -- an extremely dangerous, violent person," Missouri police spokesman, Lieutenant Sonny Lynch, repeatedly emphasized.

James Horn, 47, is a thin Caucasian male with dark hair and brown eyes. He stands about 6-feet-tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. Anyone who sees this suspected murderer, or knows of his present whereabouts, is urged to call 911 without delay.
