Men Stole a Backhoe to Steal an ATM

Jul 12, 2015

Two middle-aged men stole a backhoe to steal an ATM this weekend, and are in custody now for their stupid crime.

Florida police say the pair of first-prize dolts used the stolen dozer to rip down an enclosure at the Center State Bank branch in Winter Haven which was housing the automatic teller machine.

Then they loaded the ATM onto a flatbed truck -- presumed to be their own -- and fled with it.

The crime was staged at around midnight Friday, but thanks of course to security cameras, which the two men evidently didn’t think to take with them, they were apprehended soon thereafter.

Cops found Jesus Sanchez, 50, and his older cohort Francisco Hernandez had not succeeded in busting open the cash dispenser yet, and they were busted instead.

Both have been booked at the Polk County jail and charged with grand theft.
