An unnamed source involved in the #BellaBond murder case says that Deer Island’s Baby Doe (shown below) was punched to death by her mother’s boyfriend because he decided the toddler was “possessed.”
Massachusetts police have charged 35-year-old drug addict, Michael McCarthy, for homicide and Bella Bond’s biological mother, Rachelle Bond, on related charges of murder "after the fact."
Both suspects are well known to law enforcement agencies for offenses ranging from narcotics to prostitution, the LE source further claims.
Rachelle Bond’s parenting skills with respect to Bella Bond were additionally the subject of routine investigations by the state’s DCF which ultimately dropped the ball, resulting in the young girl’s brutal beating death.
The Department of Children and Families did terminate Ms. Bond’s parental rights to other older children, however, so their oversight of Baby Doe’s neglect and abuse seems exceptionally actionable.
The child welfare agency is presently experiencing intense scrutiny for their mishandling of Bella Bond’s case, amid criticism over similar deaths of youngsters who were under their supervision when killed by their parents or in foster homes.
Moreover -- considering the strong resemblance of Baby Doe to a police sketch issued when her body was found months ago in a garbage bag near Boston harbor -- many are also wondering why DCF caseworkers didn’t immediately recognize the slain child’s face…
