Patrick Kane Rape Case: Evidence Bag was a Hoax (lawyer resigns)

Sep 25, 2015

The lawyer for a woman accusing Patrick Kane of raping her has withdrawn from the case, hours after a *planted* evidence bag he complained to the media about was revealed to be a hoax.

The short-lived controversy surfaced this week upon a report that “somebody” had left a police envelope -- once containing the victim’s rape kit -- on the doorstep of her mother.

Turns out the suspicious item was in fact placed there all right. By its recipient.

Thus, “in keeping with my ethical obligations as an officer of the court,” attorney Thomas Eoannou announced at today’s press conference, “I can no longer represent my client effectively and am withdrawing, effective immediately.”

The sex assault case against hockey “bad boy” Patrick Kane has fast become convoluted, with doubts now landing squarely on both the accused perpetrator and his unidentified victim.

In fact, Kane’s own attorney was recently quoted by the 'Buffalo News' expressing a similar lack of confidence in the legal matter, calling it “tainted from one end to the other.”

The alleged attack took place at the pro hockey player’s Buffalo New York mansion this summer. Read more about it here on Crime Magazine.
