A “smart” Texas teen has been charged in the murder of his pregnant mom this week, after a neighbor noticed he hadn’t seen her in awhile and found the woman’s corpse rotting in her kitchen.
“She was four months pregnant. She was pretty happy-go-lucky. Didn’t have a lot of drama in her life,” the man said.
Police have not released the name of the 14-year-old suspect they took into custody Monday following a weeklong manhunt for the boy, nor revealed his motive for committing matricide.
He was finally apprehended in Houston -- driving his murdered parent’s stolen car -- a department spokesman said.
Investigators also declined to comment on how the “smart kid” killed his 33-year-old expecting mother Nita Mosley, whose badly decomposed body was found roughly nine days after she was slain.
Her unidentified son has been charged as a juvenile with first-degree murder. He is believed to have “acted alone.”
