Who Hid the Phone Cam in a Starbucks Restroom This Time?

Jul 12, 2015

Police are investigating who hid the phone cam in a Starbucks restroom -- this time in Lancaster California.

The secret recording device was found beneath a sink with its lens strategically positioned so it could *observe* absolutely everything that most patrons wouldn’t want observed, let alone recorded.

Worse yet, a five-year-old made the discovery, basically because he had a better eye-view and, recognizing what the object was, it naturally peaked his curiosity.

Said the boy’s mom: “I noticed he was staring at the sink a little bit perplexed. I asked him what was wrong and he said, ‘Mommy, why is there a phone under there?'”

Investigators say it’s impossible to tell how long the hidden camera had been transmitting footage from the ladies room to its owner, or even who that owner might be.

The investigation is ongoing and thus far there’s been no suspects identified or arrests.

But, whether peeping toms are sneaking their cameras into toilet stalls or installing two-way mirrors (yes, two-way mirrors), Starbucks is not the only place that’s ever been targeted by these perversely clever offenders.

This year, for instance, a similar “spy cam” was discovered in a woman’s bathroom at UC Berkeley, and just last summer one was found in a unisex bathroom on the campus of the University of Iowa.

Perhaps the most ingenious yet though is the one placed in a public restroom at a church in Oregon that had been in plain view for weeks but not detected because it was disguised as an electric outlet.
