A prime example of how deadly the wrath of an ungrateful child can be is currently unfolding in Oregon at this hour as police interrogate a son who killed and froze his parents.
Investigators say 38-year-old Jeremy Ringquist is in custody now after a relative who was unable to reach the suspect’s mother and father initially contacted police earlier in the week to do a welfare check.
Officers attempted to do so twice, but it was on their second visit to the couple’s Springfield home yesterday that Ringquist is believed to have not only refused them admittance again, but called 911 for “a negotiator.”
Once detectives finally managed to gain entry to the residence they found Karen and Randy Ringquist -- both in their sixties -- had been slain and their corpses stuffed into an icebox.
The couple’s live-in adult son, Jeremy Daniel, was then transported to a nearby hospital for unspecified injuries and, thereafter, arrested for the double homicide on two separate counts of aggravated murder.
The coroner has not yet released the exact cause and manner of death for the Ringquists, pending complete autopsies, and the motive for their killings was also not revealed.
