Ibrahim Shkupolli & entrance to Sello mall
The Sello mall shooting occurred on the morning of December 31, 2009 in Espoo, Finland. The shooting was believed to have been started after Ibrahim Shkupolli, the gunman, found that his ex-girlfriend had a lover at the grocery store where she worked. Shkupolli first killed her in her apartment before heading to the mall. The shooting began when the gunman entered the Prisma supermarket and began firing with a handgun.
Alison Day 1st murder victim of Railway Rapist
On December 29, 1982, the "Railway Rapist" attacks and abducts Alison Day from a London train. Her strangled body was recovered two weeks later. Although the perpetrator had attacked and raped many women since 1982, this was his first murder. The Railway Rapist had a distinctive method of operation: He used a knife, bound the victim's hands with string, and usually operated close to the railroad tracks.
Roland Molineux
Roland Burnham Molineux was a chemist and social climber from Brooklyn. He was charged with first degree murder for having caused the death of Katherine J. Adams by poisoning on December 28, 1898. It was alleged that Molineux had a feud with the director of his local athletic club, Harry Cornish, and had mailed a bottle of Bromo-Seltzer laced with cynide to Cornish.
Carrie A. Nation
On December 27, 1900, prohibitionist Carry Nation smashes up the bar at the Carey Hotel in Wichita, Kansas, causing several thousand dollars in damage and is arrested. Nation, who was released shortly after the incident, became famous for carrying a hatchet and wrecking saloons as part of her anti-alcohol crusade.
Michael McDermott
Software engineer Michael “Mucko” McDermott was a strange looking man: tall, overweight with a long bushy beard and shoulder length hair. On December 26, 2000 he went into work at Edgewater Technology in Wakefield, Massachusetts, armed with an AK-47, 12 gauge shot gun and a .32 caliber pistol. There he brutally murdered seven colleagues.
JonBenet Ramsey
On December 25, 1996, six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey is killed in her Boulder, Colorado, home. John and Patsy Ramsey, her parents, called police around 6:00am the following morning to report that their daughter was missing. Although police found a ransom note demanding $118,000, the money would never be necessary, because JonBenet's body was found under a blanket in the basement that afternoon.

On December 24, 1994, four Islamic extremists hijack Air France Flight 8969 in Algiers. The terrorists then flew the plane to Marseilles with the permission of the French and Algerian governments, given in part because French Special Forces would be ready to perform a rescue mission.
